About Tom Wriglesworth
Born in Swindon, Wiltshire in 1985, Tom moved to North Yorkshire with his family when he was 2 years old. He attended school in Harrogate before, in 2004, beginning a degree course at Saint Martin’s College, Lancaster (now part of the University of Cumbria). Tom graduated in 2008 and is a full-time Primary School teacher.
Taking Art as one of his A Levels, Tom has always enjoyed painting but initially only as a form of relaxation. Whilst living in York, he began painting scenes from around the town and soon developed his own style, utilising flat colours bounded by strong dark lines. Viewers of his work liked what they saw and several commissions followed.
North Yorkshire was the main source of inspiration for his early paintings, in addition to York, Tom painted scenes of Whitby, Staithes & Robin Hood’s Bay but since moving to Otley his subjects have widened.
Limited edition Giclee prints of Tom’s work are on sale in a select few Yorkshire Shops/Galleries and are available on the Shop section of this website.
Price quotations for commissions are available on request.
